In cooperation with a number of organizations, community leaders and the Domus organization, The East Side Partnership is leading the creation and integration of a large-scale gardening project in Stamford’s East Side community.


The Kellie’s Community Garden project will initially build, develop curricula and run community events around a large (1000’s of sq. ft.) community vegetable garden at Trailblazers Academy.


Program goals include:


  1. BulletConstruction of a large-scale community vegetable garden at Domus’ Trailblazers Academy located on Lockwood Avenue in Stamford’s East Side.


  2. BulletDevelop an educational curriculum based on the responsibilities associated with the garden’s upkeep and maintenance.


  3. BulletIntegrate Kellie’s Community Garden into the local community’s economy through partnership with local Farmers’ Markets.  Host a Farmer’ Market (including local businesses) at the Domus site.


  4. BulletOffer students the opportunity to learn key new trade skills.


  5. BulletOffer local business the opportunity to work with students in an organized mentor/apprenticeship capacity.


  6. BulletBuild a model for sustainable community involvement in their local environment, social network and economy.
